Enerflex in Action
- Block 62, Maradi Huraymah Field, Oman
11,529 HP Natural Gas Compression Facility — BOOM Solution
Enerflex installed eight JGT/4 Ariel reciprocating compressors, coupled with Waukesha 7044GSI S4 engines, as part of a two-phase design, Build-Own-Operate-Maintain (BOOM) contract. The eight compressors each produce 1,647 HP at 1,200 RPM, totalling 11,529 HP.
Working to tight client deadlines and performance guarantees, the Enerflex team installed a fully operational compression plant consisting of the compressors, new slug catcher, condensate collection vessel, liquid heater, liquid booster pumps, new inlet pre- and post-filters, new liquid/ liquid coalescer, instrument air package, fire and gas detection system and interconnecting piping, electrical and instrumentation in the greenfield and brownfield. An E&I container was built to house the MCC, UPS, and DCS connected with the existing DCS system.
Outcome
The Maradi Huraymah Field is reaching maturity, requiring depletion compressors to meet current and future performance targets. Separate gas supply was provided for individual compressors commissioned by Enerflex technicians without affecting the operation of the existing plant. All cost, time targets, and discharge guarantees were met, with minimal downtime. There were zero environmental releases and no pollution.
- Permian Basin, West Texas
Over 65 Compressor Packages Installed in the Area, Totaling More Than 125,000 HP
Enerflex engineered, designed, and manufactured more than 65 three-stage CAT 3606 (A4 / LE) / Dresser Rand 7HOS4 reciprocating compressor packages, within 12 months, for a single customer’s multi-site project across the Permian basin. Numerous units were located on each site — with packages capable of producing 1,785 HP or 1,875 HP and flowing 6.8 MMSCFD. Enerflex also constructed the units onsite, partnering with technicians from Dresser Rand and CAT to ensure the streamlined commissioning of the new equipment.
Outcome
The units were spread across west Texas requiring the Enerflex team to move quickly from location to location, often commissioning two to three units per week. The team dealt with all the details — setting the engine on the skid, taking inventory of the shipment, checking frame and coupling alignments, and hooking up hoses, electrical wires, and coolers. After each unit was up and running, Enerflex’s expert technicians returned the next day to remove water suction screens and check hot alignments. This customer is one of Enerflex’s long standing respected partnerships and has continued to work with Enerflex for more than 25 years.
